CARD TEMPLATE TUESDAY ***WEEK 6***

Hi guy's, it's week six of card template Tuesday,
I thought I would wrap the template series up,
for two reasons really, the first reason is, I get bored easily (lol)
& the second reason is, I haven't had a single comment left on any of these posts,
so I thought I would do a different series for a while & see if I get any response from that.

I have decided to do a TIPS OR TECHNIQUES TUESDAY instead,
how dose that sound?
I will post it every Tuesday for the foreseeable future,
& it will have a Tip or Technique to cover each week with step by step photos where possible,

So back to today's post,
I have 6 cards & templates ready to post, so I thought I may as well post them all today,& put the series to bed (lol)

because I am only going to show the pictures today & not all the ins and outs, because it would just be a load of repeat writing,
(I think I may fall asleep writing it, let alone loose you because there is to much to read lol).

THE STAMP MAN CHALLENGE ***DISTRESS***

OK today I have my entry to the stamp man challenge,
This time the theme is DISTRESS,

If you are not familiar with this challenge here is a link to there blog
so you can read all about it, the stamp man challenges blog

I decided to use a lot of favorites on this tag,

here is the list of what I used,

• distress ink pads (brushed corduroy, peeled paint & spiced marmalade)
• distress embossing powder (vintage photo)
• distress embossing ink pad (Tim holts)
• clear embossing powder (detailed)
• archival ink pad (coffee)
• Tim Holtz visual artistry collection stamp sets (life's possibilities, lost & found & french market)
• manila tag (size 16cm x 8cm)
• a paper distresser (Tim Holtz)
• cut & dry foam
• & from my stash ( organza ribbon, 3 glass beads, mixed fibers &a metal dragonfly)

This is only the second tag I have ever made but I am definitely hooked

on making them, I was wondering how to store them? 

has any one got any suggestions?

I don't want to swash them in some sort of album because of the dimension

(I wouldn't fit many in anyway)

I love to here from you, and it also lets me know if anyone is reading my blog

JUST CLOWNING AROUND

Here is a series of three ATC's that I made using Joanna Sheen's
ATC assistant cd Rom,

This CD has a wealth of images & backing papers specially sized for them,

it covers a vast amount of subjects & styles

suitable for any occasion or project.

here is a close up of each one,

I love the mini sets of cards,

the sad clown has a rubbish hand,

 the other clowns look like they are laughing at him,

anyone would think I planed it that way LOL,

I always have a list as long as my arm, when I browse this website,

go check it out, I bet you find some cool stuff,

 it's free P&P for the UK all the time on any size order how cool is that.

CARD TEMPLATE TUESDAY ***WEEK 5***

I can't belive its week 5 already,
it's scary how time is flying don't you think, It was March last month
(some one must have put a spell on me that made six months fly by in a single night LOL)

anyway back to CARD TEMPLATE TUESDAY WEEK 5

OK template number 5

Take a piece of paper the same size as your base card

(all the cards in the series with be A5)

Draw out a sketch with a ruler & pencil (I try to make all my measurements on

the centimeter or on the half centimeter, this makes it easier for cutting).



Take scraps of card (a different colour for each layer)

& cut out the same as the sketch.

Also write the measurements on each piece so you can either draw around

each shape on your patterned papers & then cut it out, or cut it on your paper

trimmer using the measurements.

I then store the templates in a ring binder so they are to hand when I need them.

I am only going to make one card with the templates and not two because by now I think you get the idea of

how many variations you can make with the same template just by using different patterned papers & embellishments or different crafting techniques,

give it a go, I would love to see what you come up with,

SSS&S CHALLENGE THIS WEEK "STAMP"-tember HOP!

This week over on  simon says stamp and show blog they have teamed up with
simon says stamps challenge blog to give us a special challenge
in the form of a blog hop, with a fantastic prize on offer,

The theme this week is HOLIDAY FUN!
I have chosen to something Christmasy, here it is.

 I thought I would make this tissue box to look nostalgic and yesteryear with my choice of colouring,

the stamps I used are designed by a lady called sheena douglass go check her out I think she's fab.

I used a template from creative expressions to make the box,

& I used vintage photo, brushed corduroy, walnut stain

and aged mahogony distress inks to stamp and colour,

I then added some glitter.

here are some close ups of each side,

METAL ART MIRROR

I was looking through back issues of CRAFT STAMPER magazine & found an article that I didn't pay much attention to at the time,
(because I didn't have any metal or ten second studio products
when it was published)
I found a master class by Linda Brown in the August 2009 mag that I new I had to make,
I raided my stash & this is what I made.

I did copy a couple of the panels to get me started,

then the rest of it fell into place.

I used my cuttle bug to do most of the work (It made it super speedy LOL)

I used glimmer mists & alcohol inks in green & orange

& black acrylic paint,I also added some embellishments from my stash.

Linda explains all you need to know in the article panel by panel

 she also sells all the products you need here lbcrafts.com

Linda has a blog that you must go visit, her ideas are amazing yours artfully

I found it hard to photograph because of the reflection's in the mirror

but I think you can see it all.

I went to her shop on Saturday to book the new classes I wanted

and she introduced me to her latest creation Penny

OMG her mind astonishes me,

(Penny is also on her blog but definitely more amazing in person)

THE STAMP MAN CHALLENGE ***MUSICAL***

I have stumbled across a new challenge site,
It's called the stamp man challenge blog,
they are running challenges every fortnight,
click here the stamp man challenges to read all about it.

 This weeks theme is MUSICAL & here is my entry.

I have used a manila tag

(it's the first tag I have made, I'm sure it won't be the last)

the stamps I used are from paper artsy, I used the large flower off hot pick plate number 9 for the background on the tag, & hot pick plate number 6 for the background on the torn paper.

I coloured the tag with Eco-friendly acrylic paint (green patina)

It has a lovely metallic sheen to it.

The images were stamped with a versa magic chalk ink pad (jumbo java)

I have used copper metal for the book plate style sentiment

& alphabet stickers for the word music on top of it.

I used Tim Holtz Alterations die (tatterd florals)

& old book pages for the flowers

 I then glued press studs in the centers

the brass handle & the fibers came from my extra large pile of crafty stash

( which now has it's own room LOL)

I stuck it all with red line tape & glossy accents.

I think that's everything.

here are some different angles to try to show you the dimension.

 

I love the fact that the stamp man tell you in advance what the next few challenges will be,

so you can get prepared & decide what you are going to use or make,

the next theme is going to be DISTRESS how fab is that,

I have lots of ideas buzzing around in my head for that.

SIMON SAYS STAMP & SHOW ***LAYERS***

This weeks theme is LAYERS,

I have made this card with a ton of layers, the card has 4 layers and the flowers have 9 layers each,

so I hope it counts as my interpretation of this weeks theme.

The colours I have used remind me of chocolates

(I must have a craving or something LOL)

The stamps I have used are as follows, for the sentiment it's paper artsy, hot picks plate no 8,

for the flourish it's hot pick plate no 5 & the leaf is a studio 490 stamp.

The patterned paper is from a paper stack by paper mania

called raspberry champagne,

& the flower petals are cut from a spell binders die called flower creations 3,

I have used spun sugar & Victorian velvet distress inks for the flower petals,

I used aged mahogany & brushed corduroy to edge everything,

& the leafs have been stamped with aged mahogany,

the sentiment has been stamped with coffee archival ink.

I have taken several angles to try & get the dimension

but the photos don't seem to have picked it up to well (sorry)

I learned how to make these flowers from a video

she has some grate ideas.
