for my entry for this weeks theme over at
simon says stamp and show blog the theme this week is NUMBERS,
I am also entering it for the challenge over at
the stamp man challenges blog the theme is AUTUMN,
click on there names to check them out.
for the frame I painted a thin layer of Claudine Hellmuth's traditional tan paint,
& let it dry,
I then added a generous layer of Tim's crackle paint (clear rock candy)
& let that dry,
I then rubbed crushed olive & rusty hinge distress ink over,
but only in patches to give it a shabby distress look.
this is how the frame started it's life, (I paid 30p for it at a boot sale)
for the inside I cut a piece of card to fit the frame
then chopped it up into stamp able sized pieces,
stamped all the images with archival ink (coffee)
then blended each piece with either
rusty hinge, wild honey, forest moss or crushed olive,
using a blending tool & foam,
I then went around each piece of card with brushed corduroy
to draw it all together.
I then stuck it all back together on a scrap of paper.
& embellished it with some snaps, idea-ology flower & a large glass nugget,
the little amber glass bird was the inspiration behind the whole frame,
I have had him in my stash for quite some time,
(he also came from a boot sale, I payed 10p for him)
I used a book plate & ticket from Tim Holtz,
& a couple of corners from my stash, to embellish the frame,
I used stamps from
Tim Holtz, Wendy Vecchi, Paper Artsy & Creative Expressions.
I am pleased with the way it terned out,
shame about the finger prints on the glass lol,
I have another new follower to welcome,
lovely to have you Neil Walker.
I'm off to link it all up,
Back soon Kat x.
