DABBER RESIST TECHNIQUE

This is the first time I have entered the
COMPENDIUM of CURIOSITIES challenge
(so be gentle with me lol)

This challenge is over at studio L3
It's been running for 18 weeks,
(where have I been?)
you can read all the details HERE

I stumbled across this challenge reading a post on Hels blog
(I clicked a link & decided to enter)

OK, This week the technique you must include in your artwork is
DABBER RESIST on page 37.

Here's my entry,

I used a manila tag, size 16cm x 8cm,

a paint dabber (snow cap)
not sure why mine didn't go back to white,
I like the pink/green tinge anyway (luckily)

Distress inks
(frayed burlap, brushed corduroy, crushed olive & forest moss)

Tim's alteration dies
(regal crest & heart wings)

Archival ink,(coffee)

Lost & found paper stack,
(for the clock & wording)

Idea-ology (game spinner)

metallic ink pen (gold)
for edging the shield & wording,

All the stamps are Tim's

From my stash I used,
A bottle cap,
I ran it through the bug,
I expected it to flatten outwards,
instead it flattened out in wards (happy accident me thinks)

5 metal heart charms,
decorative paper scraps & some fibers.

I'm going to have to get busy,
I have 17 weeks to catch up on,
I have decided to make a tag for each technique,
& hang them round my craft room.

I know it's to late to enter them,
but I will show you them on the blog,
& I will try to enter the remaining weeks every time,
(if I write it down It's more likely to happen lol)

So wish me luck,
I'm off to link it up.
Thanks for stopping by,
Have a grate day
Kat x.

  1. Fabulous tag Kat! Your resist looks great! I used pearl dabber instead of snowcap, so maybe that's why it looks brighter.

  2. I love your tag. Your bottle cap, how did you get #'s on it? was it like that? I love it. I made a new project with some of Tim's stuff and posted it on my blog today. Check it out if you'd like. Shari (cricutrookie)

  6. Kat, welcome to the CCC! I'm so excited that you joined in, and like Marlene said, I can't wait to see more of your creations! Your tag for Challenge 18 is just gorgeous-- no need to ask for mercy, girl, you can obviously craft with the best of them! Your dabber resist is perfect, and you made a truly beautiful work of art with it.

It's awesome that you're going to go back and to the previous techniques! It will be a real treat to see more of your art!

We'll have a new challenge on Monday! Hope to see you there!

  8. Kat, thanks for stopping by my blog. In answer to your question, the fence was punched with a martha stewart halloween punch. I snipped off the little bats. Now tell me about your bottle caps, do you buy plain ones? How do you flatten them? How did you get the #'s on it, did you buy it like that? Sorry about all the questions, but I really liked it. Thanks Shari (cricutrookie)

  9. I love your tag Kat! Your design and the colours are gorgeous and you aren't alone, mine didn't go back to white in places either :). Good luck with the catch up, I've missed quite a few too and hope to do them at some point. Enjoy the rest of your weekend. Chris :)
