THE TREE OF LIFE

Hi all,
Today I would like to show the penultimate tag (sad face ;-( )
for the COMPENDIUM of CURIOSITIES Challenge #34
the technique this time is
DIMENSIONAL COLLAGE FRAGMENTS,
over at studio L3
hosted by Linda Ledbetter

So here it is,

I used,
Vintage Photo distress ink,
Juniper Paint Dabber,
tree embossing folder,
Tim's (sander, fragments & film strip)
scraps of paper & old book pages
a Go Create alphabet die (Lingfield)
glossy accents,
the Owl charm & fibers are from my stash.

The background on this one is done in a similar way as,
weathered wood grunge technique on page 50,
just on card instead of grunge,

I had fun with this one,
& I was surprised at how little you need
in the way of scrap papers etc,
(I sorted out a big pile of bits & didn't even touch it, lol)

Anyway that's about it,
I hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by,
Back soon,

EXPLORE NEW PLACES BUT ALWAYS COME HOME (journal page)

Hi all,
I'm blogging at work again so I have to be quick, (naughty naughty!!)

Today I would like to shear my second page in my home made journal,
HERE'S a link to how this journal came about.

I used Dyan Reaveley's Dylusions sprays (hot pink & burnt orange)
& round the edge stamp set,
the hat in the picture is off one of her collage sheets,
here's a link to her shop.afth.co.uk
go check it out (lots of cool stuff)

The lady & the words are from
Marsha dose the most stunning work,
Go check her out.

The journey stamp is a wood mounted one
designed by Marah Johnson for limited edition

The city scape is from a magazine.

I am loving making messy backgrounds
using splats, end of a brushes, lids & tops, & sequin waste,to create with,
(nothing is safe at the moment in my hands) (lol)

Hope you like it!

Told you it was a quick one!

LOVELY LADIES (tag)

Hi all,
Today I have my entry for the
COMPENDIUM of CURIOSITIES Challenge #33,
over at studio L3
hosted by Linda Ledbetter,
the technique this week is,
ALTERED METAL ALCOHOL INKS,
on page 56.

Here's my tag,

I used,
Victorian Velvet & Brushed Corduroy,
the stamps used are, swirls/florishes (inkadinkado)
& Ladies (crafty individuals CI-238)
Alcohol Inks,(sunset orange, tera cotta & cranbury)
Archival Ink, (coffee)
Tim Holtz, (distresser)
scraps of paper & card,
Dragonfly charms & fibers from my stash,
& a manilla tag.

I stamped & cut the ladies on a cream card,
I felt the ladies didn't stand out enough,
so I stamped & cut them onto white card
& coloured there cheeks etc with Victorian Velvet Distress ink,
I then used silicone glue to raise them a bit,
& then used foam pads to adhere the tile to the tag.

With the swirls in the background I stamped
coffee archival,
& then stamped again without reinking,
so you get a lighter image,
(this is called secondry stamping, I think!)
It gives a lovely depth to your background.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for stopping by,

with Inka gold (gold & copper) rubbed over it,
The mould that the UTEE is pored into is one I made myself
out of Mould & Pour (fab stuff) & a pair of wing earrings
(I've had them in my stash for ages,
but I didn't want to commit them to a project
because then they are gone,
this way I have the mould to use again & again)

INDUSTRIAL GRUNGE MIRROR

Hi to all,
I'm late in posting this so ill be quick,

over at simon says stamp and show blog
the theme this week is SHOW SOME EMBOSSING
so I decided to do an ikea mirror,

This also fits the ANYTHING BUT A CARD
challenge over at simon says stamps challenge blog

& it fits for gingersnap creations blog
the theme of GC90: CHARMS

here it is,

I went with an industrial look for this one as you can see,
I have used these mirrors before & buy them in job lots,
because they are such a good base to work on,
& they are such a good prices at £1.19
(look back at older posts to see the other mirrors
in different styles I have made)
I have put a piece of white paper over the mirror to get better photos.

so what did I use?
well I used,
grunge paper, a  cuttlebug & an assortment of embossing folders,
black soot distress ink,  various Tim Holtz idea-ology,
the journey stamp is one of Tim's, a black gel pen,
jet black archival ink, clear embossing powder,
Eco friendly acrylic paint
(gold, aged gold, silver, aged silver, copper & bronze)
buttons, corners & the bracelet parts are from my stash,

Here's some close ups,

All i did was run the grunge paper (in an embossing folder)
through my cuttle bug, then cut it up into 4cm squares,
then painted them with acrylic paint, arranged & stuck them to the mirror
I then swiped the black soot ink pad over the whole thing
(this gave it that dirty aged look)
I then drew faux cross stitches over the whole thing
with the black gel pen,
I sorted out some bits & bobs
& stuck them to the mirror with silicone glue.
& that's about it.

Hope you like it!

I'm off to link it up before the submission closes
