IT'S ALL METAL ( MIRROR )

Hi guy's,
Sorry I haven't put this post up earlier
I wanted the last post with the give away to stay at the top as long as passable
(I was hopeing to get 30 followers) so I could draw it,
I am up to 22 so hopefully it wont be to long,
keep popping back because as soon as I hit the 30 I will draw it.

Back to today's post,
I have made another mirror, this one is for the Simon says stamp & show challenge,
this weeks theme is SHOW YOUR METAL click HERE to check it out,

This was one of the fastest things I have ever made,
I think,believe it or not,
as you can see I used 3 different colours of metal (green, brown & gold)
after I cut them to size I ran them through my bug
in different embossing folders,
I sanded off the colour on the raised points to reveal
the aluminium underneath,
then used alcohol inks (rust & current) to high light certain bits,
I used a ten second studio tool to add dots to the bird & butterfly panels,
I then stuck the panels with red line tape to the wooden mirror,

It took quite a while for me to take the pic's
because of the reflection,
in the end I covered the mirror with a piece of white paper

I then only had the reflection of the shinny metal to contend with LOL

I cut 4 strips out of copper coloured metal,
went over them several times with a TSS wheel tool,
& stuck them with red line tape as shown,

I then made a flower out of the metal using paper artsy hot picks stamps,
that Linda Brown of lbcrafts showed me how to make at ally pally last year,
she has a tutorial on her blog if you would like to make one.

I added a metal button to the center,

I used one of Tim Holtz book plates,
with the words make art stamped inside it onto metal,
It's one of Wendy Vecche's,

& to finish off I added 3 vintage metal buttons
to the flower centers in the top center panel.

This mirror was so much faster to make
than the original one because I didn't use the TSS moulds
here's a link to that one if you would like to see it,

My nephew Liked the first one so I let him have it
(it's on his wall in his front room)
that's why I made another one,
My Sister came round yesterday, saw it, & said is this one for me,
so guess what,  I still don't have one
I will make another, maybe it will be third time lucky, hay, lol

Now to my new followers,
in no particular order,
scrappy Jacky, the sparkly fairy, Andrea, Ukka,
sequin, viba art & scrap booking, Dunja & Denise

WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME,
it's so nice to have you all.

well that's about all for today,
I'm off to link this up,
Back soon Kat x.
