I'm here today with my entry for

Tim's September, 2008 Technique Challenge
Linda has the link on her blog for the technique,
so go check it out,

Here's my entry,

As you can see it's another tag,

I must admit I struggled with this one,
this is the 3 attempt,
the first attempt the inks I used were to dark,
the second attempt I used to much water,
& this attempt I think the inks are to pale,
but this is it never the less.

the stamps I used are from
Paper Artsy,

The butterflies are broaches I picked up at boot sales
& the bells are from an old  Xmas Dec,

there it is,
Hope you like it!

SHOW SOME WENDY VECCHI STYLE....

Well it would be rude not too, surely,
as I am a huge fan.

PSSSST, I HAVE BLOG CANDY, IT'S ON THE LEFT, IN MY SIDE BAR.

Hi all,
Over on Simon says stamp and show blog
the theme is SHOW SOME WENDY VECCHI STYLE
The design team have out done themselves this time,
click HERE to check it out.

Here's my project,
(I call it a project, because I haven't decided yet if it's a,
door plaque, card front, book cover or a wall hanging)
what do you think it should be?

I took my inspiration for this, from the lady herself,

I used mount board to cut the outer frame out of,
the inner frame is cut from a sizzix die (scallop frame)
all the stamps I have used are, of course Wendy Vecchi's
I used Tim Holtz on the edge die (on the fence)
& Tim's fab grunge paper,
the whole thing is coloured with,
Distress Ink (bundled sage,
pumice stone, vintage photo & brushed corduroy)
& Distress Stain
(wild honey, fired brick & vintage photo)
the images are stamped with,
Archival Ink (jet black & coffee)

the flower stalks & leaves are hand cut from pearlised paper,
& the buttons & beads on wire are from my stash.

I have used foam pads & silicone glue for dimension,

Hope you like it!

Please check out my blog candy
it's to celebrate reaching 100 followers.

BUTTERFLY, FLUTTERBY

PSSSST, I HAVE BLOG CANDY, IT'S ON MY SIDE BAR,

Hi all,
I know I have been missing on my blog lately,
all I can do is apologise, Sorry, Sorry, Sorry.
I haven't had much of a chance to craft lately
what with illness attacking me & mine,
(one gets sick, one gets better, another gets sick & passes it back,
round & round the bugs have gone in our house of late)
& I have also had a busy diary with social things going on,
(birthday parties, rugby club outings {GO APE near Leeds castle}fab day
& end of year barbeque's) & works been busy,
not to mention blogger going crazy.
I missed entering any challenges last week :-c,
so I got up early this morning (before any one else was up)
to make this quick tag & I am blogging it at work (naughty, naughty)
for,
Simon says stamp and show blog
the theme this week is OLD WIVES'S TALE
& studio L3 blog the theme this week is
Tim Holtz Distress Ink Color Blocking
click on there names to read all about the challenges.

Here is said tag,

I have three old wives tales about butterflies for you,

Three butterflies seen together means good luck.

If the first butterfly you see in the year is white,
you will have good luck all year.

The soul of your departed love ones,
visit you in the form of a butterfly.

I have used,
movers & shapers Tag & Bookplate Die,
Distress Ink
(bundled sage, tea dye, tattered rose, wild honey & vintage photo)
butterflies are cut from Graphic 45 paper,
these stamp sets,
Coffee archival ink,
green garden twine & butterfly charm from my stash.

here's my Ink Color Blocking background,
this was a Fab quick & easy technique,

Hope you like it!

I know I have over 100 followers,

put them with the stuff I have all ready sorted out
& do a post for how you can win it,

JOURNAL CALENDER (MAY 2011)

Hi all,
My May page is ready to show off,
(can you believe its May already)

My finished April page will appear by magic near the bottom of this post,

For those of you that are not in the know,
this challenge lasts the whole year,
you have to journal every day in the form of 12 monthly calender pages,
& then head over to the the kathryn wheel blog & link up your creation,
so Kate Crane & any one else can see what you have come up with,

If you like the sound of that? you can jump in at any time along the way,
so get cracking & head over HERE to check it out.

So here's my May page,

Here are some shots of how I built the page,
& what I used.

So I started out with the lightest colour & blended
the colours as shown above.

Then stamped on that with the item's in the picture above,

Now here's my finished background,

I then went on & embellished with a selection of dies & card scraps &
pre cut flowers & flower punch,
(I love the Go Kreate BOO Bear dies range)

The squares are again as the other months part
of a TSV on QVC bought ages ago (glad to put them to good use)
the days of the week are done on my computer,
as are the numbers (then punched out with a punch)
I used a Zig pen & white gel pen to doodle round some of the squares.
& there you have it!

Again I haven't stuck much down yet
as it gives me the freedom to change and improve
things during the month.
Hope you like it!

Here's April all filled in & stuck down,
with a few ajustments & more flying wellies (love them lol)

If you would like to see the ins & outs of this page

Well that's it for today,
have a crafty day.
