FAIRY CANVAS

Hi all,
where have you been? I hear you ask,
well lets just say real life has been getting in the way a lot lately,
in the form of decorating, house work, husband, son, even the pets & work etc,
I'm sure you can all relate,
I miss crafting so much, I can't wait to get back to it.

I have still been checking in on you lovely lot, &
seeing what you have all been up to,
there's some really grate creations being made out there,

I notice around blog land there are lots of whimsical faces being painted,
so I thought I would give that a go,
I have never drawn a face let alone painted on, in my life (so be kind lol)

Here is my first attempted, what do you think?

I used Eco Friendly acrylic paints,
a cheep pound shop canvas
(if it didn't work I didn't want to waste a good one lol)
sequin waste, lids & tops,
crafty notions guilding flakes,
buttons & flower gems,
the words were printed on the computer,
a pencil & a black fine liner.
I think that's all!

This photo is a good shot of the guilding flakes, (ooh shiny)

A close up of the journaling.

For a first attempted I think she turned out quite well,
Hope you like her!

I AM LOVING THIS JOURNAL LARK !!!

Hi all,
I have made another page in my home made journal today,
so I thought I would shear it ,

My style of crafting I would say is generally quite precise,& planed
but not in this journal (I think that's why I am loving it!)
I think it's because if I mess up I haven't lost any thing,
the children's book I altered was less than 20p so I am trying new things in it,
like doodling & smooching & spraying.
I am trying different textures & using different things (including my fingers)lol
I am getting very messy,(luv it!)
I like not nowing what i'm going to do/use untill it's on the page.

I have my whole family saving there magazines for me to cut up,

So here is page 3,

So what did I use?????
I got so involved Painting & spraying & splodging,
this is what I can remember,

Dylusions acrylic paint ( aqua & yellow)
Dylusions ink spray (post box red)
& Dyans downloads (legs)
click here to find Dyan Reaveley's shop

I used gesso, letter stencil & lids
the stamps are stamped in archival ink (jet black)
& are a clear set from basicgray,
images are cut from magazines,
and I used a white gel pen, & a black ZIG pen for the doodleing.

I made the saying on the computer,
then printed it out,
I saw it in an art magazine
& thought that would make a grate journal page,
so here it is.

I am realy pleased with how it turned out,
Hope you like it!

HOMAGE TO THE HOLTZ

Hi all,
well the day has arrived,
we are at the final technique in the book, sad,sad face :-(
but don't despair, it's not over yet,
go see what Linda Ledbetter has to say on the matter,
at studio L3

The technique this time is DESIGN DETAILS
My final tag pays homage to the the man himself,
not only have I put his name on it,
but I have also made it in the style of my favorite tag of his EVER!!!
it was one of his 12 days of Xmas tags 2010,

So here it is,

I have used,
Distress inks (brushed corduroy, walnut stain & wild honey)
the music stamp is from the artistic stamper,
rosette die, buttons, glossy accents, heirloom gold perfect pearls,
UTEE (red) heart mould & heat gun,
lingfield alphabet die,
brads & Tim's design ruler, craft pick & sanding grip,
fibers from my stash.

I thought it was a nice round up to put the number 35 on it, as it's the last,
& the heart because I have loved every minute of this challenge
& Linda Ledbetter has been the most fabulous host,
not to mention the fab prizes on offer every week
(not that I have ever been lucky enough to get picked)
there's always next time (lol)

I hope this dose the occasion justice.

As I said above,
Linda you have been an amazing host throughout the challenge,
& I just wanted to say a big thank you,
YOU ROCK!!!

I'll be back tomorrow with a round up of all 35
tags I made for this challenge,
it will be grate to see them all in one place,
& all in the order they should have been made.(lol)

Hope you like it!

JOURNAL CALENDER (March 2011)

My March page is ready to show off

I am really enjoying this challenge,
My finished February page will appear by magic near the bottom of this post,

(I'm on time again can you believe it!!!) (lol)

For those of you that are not in the know,
this challenge lasts the whole year,
you have to journal every day in the form of 12 monthly calender pages,
& then head over to the the kathryn wheel blog & link up your creation,
so Kate Crane & any one else can see what you have come up with,

Like the sound of that? you can jump in at any time along the way,
so get cracking & head over HERE to check it out.

I am also entering this for the,
SPRING HAS SPRUNG Challenge,
over at the artistic stamper creative team blog
Now with out further a do,

here's my MARCH page,

This page turned out fresh & clean looking
just as I wanted (that's what spring is in my mind)
I love to see all my bulbs jump out of hiding & start to bloom,
Spring is my favorite time of year,
the nights start to get lighter, & the world starts to get it's colour back.
I was thinking of using daffs & tulips but I couldn't resist using
Dyan Reaveley, Dylusions Stamps
check them out here at the Art from the Heart Shop

I am improving with my confidence slightly,
I have managed to stick some of the flowers down (lol)

Now my Spring Fairy Dancer is made from collage sheets,
the head is (my favorite) from DYAN'S DOWNLOADS
the dancer & crown are from the very talented Marsha

OK here's some shots of what I used
& how it built up,

If you would like to see how the colours are blended
you can go to my Jan or Feb posts HERE or HERE
I have done this page in exactly the same way.

Here's my page after I have stamped on it,
& this is the distress inks & stamps I used.

I then stamped & blended the flowers onto some scrap paper
& cut them out.

The pre cut squares are from a TSV on QVC that I brought ages ago
(I love the fact that I am able to put these to good use on my pages)
The word MARCH is stamped from an alphabet set
& cut out, I then edged it, & all the squares with a black marker
to make them stand out.
The days of the week & numbers were made on the computer
& then cut or punched out in the same way as the previous pages.
I coloured the flowers with whispers marker pens.

I hope you like it!

Here's my finished FEBRUARY master piece (lol)

If you would like to see how this page was made you can

click back to the February post HERE

& for all you double clickers out there like me,
my window sager is still on going,
I am decorating my bedroom (slowly)
& I am having to have the outside of my house
re rendered,coated & painted
(to stop a leak/damp problem I never new I had
until I pulled out my husbands wardrobe to decorate)
Money & time is so tight at the moment,
sorry if I neglect my blog a bit.

Well I think that's about it,
I don't think I've missed anything.

I see I am up to 72 followers, (how cool is that!)
I do value all of my followers,

& I do appreciate all the wonderful comments I get from you all.
It gives my confidence a real boost to think you all like what I make
enough to come back,
so thank you all once again.
that's it from me today.

Thanks for stopping by,
