Here's some close ups
(to try to get some of the amazing brush stroke affects you can get,
& the glittery WOW powders.

Instead of using a verasmark ink pad for the edge,
this time I used a versamark pen,
(you get much more control)

Here's the 2 paintings on the wall, pride of place LOL
Can't wait to see the new stamps,
(I can see me having to moving them to make room for
number 3,4,5..... ) ROFL

A JOURNEY OF LOVE LASTS FOREVER

Hi all,
today I would like to show my entry for
the sunday stamper week 150 over at
ink on my fingers blog,
Hel's has some fab candy up for grabs,

to celebrate her 1000 posts & 150 weeks of Sunday stampers
the theme is LOVE, (Her printers tray is amazing)
check it out HERE

So here's my entry,
it's another wall hanging,

I am also entering this for the
the theme this time is to
show a lord Tim of Holtz technique
(the technique I choose is blended batik
from Tims Compendium of Curiosities book)

& for
the theme this time is to use
texture fade embossing folder
Linda has a Video for you to watch over HERE
to inspire you.

Here are some shots to show these techniques,

Blended Batik technique,

Texture Fades on the wings & label background,

here's some different angles
to try to show the textures & dimension

I've used some new stash on this project like the
papillion & haberdashery stamp sets,
the labels die & the
fab distress stain in weatherd wood
(these stains are amazing I would highly recommend them)

I have just rememberd the monthly challenge over at
is layers so I may as well stick it on there as well LOL
have the theme of embossing this time,
so in for a pound, in for a penny hay!

I hope you like it!
I'm off to link this up all round blog land,LOL

POPPIES, POPPIES, POPPIES

Hi All,
I just framed my poppy painting & I'm Soooooo EXCITED,
I LOVE IT !
(I know it's not good to give self praise but I can't believe I made this)
it's so cool, I can't stop looking at it (lol)

Yes it's another paint fusion, but on a much larger scale,
My photos don't do it justice,
even the close ups don't pick up the yellows very well in the poppies,
or the WOW glittery embossing powders.

I love doing this distress cracked background
it's so satisfying watching it crack,

If you haven't come across this style of painting before then pop
over HERE to Sheena Douglass website & check it out,

you can see a bit of the glittery edge on this shot,
Instead of using the versa mark pad for this, I used the pen,
& it came out better than with the pad, happy accident me thinks.

Here it is pride of place on the bow bay window
so I can look at it (LOL)

I would love to here what you think,
please leave me a comment,

Thanks for stopping by,

GRUNGE MONDAY WEEK 3

Hi all,
I'm in a hurry today,
I've been paint fusioning all week
& almost forgot to make my GRUNGE MONDAY entry

so I got up & made it in a rush this morning before anyone else was up.

for anyone that doesn't know, this is a  fab new challenge over at studio L3
It's called GRUNGY MONDAY & its week 3
click HERE to find out all about it.

The challenge this week is to use
ADIRONDACK COLOR WASHES

Here's my rather rushed effort

Here's what I used,
movers & shapers die (tag & bookplate)
old book page,
Adirondack color wash (sunset orange & wild plum)
mica mask (tulip damask)
distress ink
(spun sugar, Victorian velvet, pine needles & crushed olive)
Wendy Vecchi stamps
silver butterfly, stars & natural twine
are from my stash.

as you can see I have rushed the photos as well

but I thought it was better to do a rush job
than miss a week,
anyway there it is,
I'm off to do the house work that I have neglected all week, lol

DAISY DAISY PAINT FUSION DAISY.

Hi all,
today I would like to shear my latest creation,
it's a wall hanging for my new bedroom,
I love doing the paint fusion paintings (I'm hooked)
if you haven't come across this before then head over to
http://www.sheena.tv/ Sheena Douglass will explain all.

While I was at ally pally at the weekend I met a lovely lady called
Katie (she was Sheena's stand in for the show)
I took my inspiration for this piece from a sample she had on the stand,
here's a link to her blog chantilly rose crafts
she has some amazing stuff to show you.

OK here it is,

I started with 3 15cm x 15cm pieces of mount board,
I covered them with patterned paper,
added eyelets to thread the ribbon through
then I used the WOW embossing powders
(& they are WOW I love the glittery ones, brass is my fave)
next I took 3 10cm x 10cm pieces of mount board
& done Sheena's distress background on them
(it's all explained in Sheena's paint fusion DVD)
I then painted a selection of daisies & leaves on them,
I used weathered wood distress ink to age parts of the background,
I went round the edge with
BRASS GLITTER WOW embossing powder,
then I added the die cut letters
DAISY MAKE ME SMILE (well they do)
& I added glossy accents over the top of them.
threaded it all together & hay presto there you have it!

Here's some close ups.

I love that I can paint with this much detail,
with so little effort,
thanks Sheena your amazing.

I am entering this into the following challenges,

the theme this time is EMBOSSING
as I have heat embossed on it,
&
the theme this time is,
SHOW SOME DISTRESSING
this is the distressed background
(I thought I would challenge myself to thinking outside
the box & not automatically reach for the distress inks,
as I always do, but a little weathered wood did sneak in) LOL

Hope you like it as much as I do,
I get so much satisfaction from these techniques
& I am quite proud of this piece,
even if I do say so myself, lol

Thanks for stopping by,
Back son,
Kat x.

PAINT FUSION CRAZY

Hi all,
just a quick post today to let you know my
latest adiction,
I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the new paint fusion range,
Who new I could paint poppies?
if you haven't heard of this,
it's by Sheena Douglass, A very talented lady (I have lot's of her stamps)
& I have watched her in awe for about the last 5years or so
on Create & craft TV & at shows,
Sheena has just launched this fab range & it's AMAZING
go check out her blog http://www.sheena.tv/
(there's some relay cool stuff on there, videos/ tutorials/ ideas gallery etc)
& she has an online shop.

Here's my first Paint Fusion Creation,

I bought the DVD & exclusive stamp set
off create & craft .TV
(the pick of the day sold out so fast, this was all that was left)
as soon as it arrived I watched it (in awe I may add)
& new I had to have the full range,
so with some birthday money,& rainy day money,
I ordered the lot.

Now on the DVD Sheena says
you progress through the stamps up to the poppies,
but me being me, went straight there,
I jumped head first (lol)
& this is the result.

Well even if I do say so myself
I think this turned out pretty fab,

So go check it out, http://www.sheena.tv/
get hooked, then come back & tell me all about it.

That's it, just wanted to shear that with you,
I'm off to have a go at painting daisy's LOL.

click HERE to find out all about it.

The challenge this week is to use this technique,
( Distress Ink with Studio Multi Medium )
Linda has a link to the video you need to watch on her blog

So Here's my wall hanger thingy,

The technique is the sun ray part,
(I was a bit nerves with this technique because I had never come across it before,
so I decided once the first stamp was successful
I wouldn't push my luck & do more in case it went horribly wrong)LOL

In the pictures below are what I used on the project,
with the addition of the sizzix leaf die, vintage buttons,
natural twine & a metal dragonfly
(I forgot to include them)silly me.

I used a brown coloured chipboard shape
so I had to cover it, I used whats in the picture below,

here's some different angled shots,
to show dimention.

This also fits some other challenges out there,
so I am also entering this for,

The challenge is SHOW ANYTHING BUT A CARD,

The challenge is ANYTHING TIM,

The challenge is LAYERS
